Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, "Surely the LORD is in this place, and I did not know it." He was afraid and said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven." (Genesis 26:16-17) |
In the book of Acts 3:1-10 we read about Peter and John who went to the temple to pray.
A man who had been lame from his mother's womb was sitting at the gate, which was called Beautiful or the Mercy Gate. |
Peter, and John, fixed their gaze on the lame man and said, "Look at us!"
Peter said, "I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazareth—walk!" Then he seized the lame man by the right hand and raised him up. Immediately the lame man's feet and his ankles were strengthened.
He stood upright and began to walk. The now ex-lame man entered the temple with Peter and John, walking and leaping and praising God. |
