Learning[John 8:31-32 & 51] Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; [32] and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.
The first step is to believe, but that’s not enough. You have to continue. Then you have to be-come a disciple. After that you will know the truth. After knowing the truth you will find true free-dom, but freedom from what? – Freedom from sin, addictions, religiousness and finally; freedom from the so-called inevitable—death.
[51] Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he will never see death.
It is not just the believing itself in Jesus or even believing His Word, but rather keeping. The fruit of keeping is the final experience of never dying, spiritually, emotionally, mentally and yes, physically. I do not give you any guarantee, nor do I ask you for blind believing.
Who is going to teach you these things the way they were given to us without any theological twist?
